Royce Chocolates Now in Manila

Much has been said about the Royce brand of chocolates. We’ve heard about it in blogs and our friends’ accounts on how smooth and creamy their Nama chocolates are. Before, it would have taken a ticket to Singapore or Japan for you to get your hands on some Royce Brown Gold. But now, it will only take a trip to the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell to indulge in this Japanese chocolate wonder.

But Royce isn’t just all about the Nama and the infamous Chocolate Dipped Potato Chips. They have a wide selection that can cater to any patron’s discriminating palate. But for those who just want to know what they can get for their loved ones this holiday season, here are SPOT’s Top 5 Royce Picks that will surely get you in good graces with your loved ones this Christmas.

1.  Macadamia Nuts Chocolate

Royce’s version of the classic favorite is a certified hit. Dusted with bitter cacao powder and a bit bitter, this round confection is bigger than the usual Japanese chocolate coated macadamia nut product you usually see in supermarkets (Meiji, we’re talking to you!). The flavor is much more rich and apparent than any other chocolate covered macadamia brand we’ve ever tasted. The chocolate comes in a sizable and very classy dark purple can. Spread the macadamia goodness this holiday season for P690.00.

2.  Chocolate Staff: Bitter

We really have no idea why it’s called “staff” but we could really care less about the name. If you’re looking for the real deal when it comes to dark, bitter chocolate, get yourself this bad boy. Containing 2 kinds of coin shaped chocolates – the bitter and extra bitter, you won’t find your insides screaming “diabetes!” when you choose to indulge in this top notch bitter confection. Get on the good side of your significant other’s sugar-conscious relatives for P580.00.

3.  Nama Chocolate: Mild Cacao

Of course we can’t go on without recommending one of the flagship products of Royce. Subject of all the raves in most parts of the world, the Nama Chocolate line of Royce puts a new perspective on how the regular consumer can enjoy chocolate. Smooth and extra rich, this high quality brown gold has 5 different kinds of variants – the Au Lait, White, Champagne, Bitter, and the Mild Cacao. We chose the mild cacao because the flavor of sweet and bitter is perfectly balanced. At the same time, it has that same melt-in-your mouth quality that the Royce Nama line is famous for. Each box contains 20 mini rectangles. Give your tongue a pampering this Christmas for P580.00.

4.  Potatochip Chocolate

This product is a gleaming testament to the Japanese knack of making unusual pairings work. The sweetness of the chocolate doesn’t overpower the saltiness of the chips. It seems so wrong to mix the two but somehow Royce achieves a perfect sweet and salty balance. Bite into a whole bag of these strange but wonderful creations for P540.00 (small) and P990.00 (large).

5.  Orange Truffe

A gem of a find, the Orange Truffe is in a class of its own. The refreshing orange flavor contained in this chocolate is a joy to have in your mouth – and it’s not one of those cheap orange flavors either. The chocolate is smooth and creamy like all the selections of Royce. True, there are other orange flavored chocolates on the market that go for much cheaper, but the Orange Truffe outweighs the competition by a great margin. You’ll have to taste it to know what we mean. Fill yourself and your significant other with the refreshing taste of orange for the New Year for P450.00.

Royce Chocolates is located at the 3rd floor of the Powerplant Mall and is open from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. From December 19 to 23, they will be open from 10:00AM to 12:00MN. For orders and inquiries, please call 492-5051 or 489 6946.

Do you have any other Royce Chocolates selection that you think we should try? Let us know!
